Ask a frontline operations manager how they know whether a good shift happened. The answer usually involves checking in with supervisors, scrolling through a group chat, and trying to remember whether the morning inspection report came back clean. The New Data Backbone
Last Monday, two new apps landed together: Power Tables and Live Boards.
Power Tables is what it sounds like — tables that scale to millions of rows, with typed columns, validation rules, row history, saved views, and a REST API. That might sound like "we built a spreadsheet," but that framing undersells what it means for operations teams. The difference between a spreadsheet and a structured data table is the difference between a conversation and a record. A spreadsheet is whatever someone typed. A Power Table is data: queryable, auditable, connected to workflows.
Teams can now track anything as structured data inside MangoApps — safety incidents, maintenance tickets, customer complaints, daily checklist completions, inventory records — without exporting to a separate tool, without losing business context, and without waiting for IT to stand up a database. This week also added CSV and Excel import for Power Tables, so existing data does not have to start from scratch. Upload a spreadsheet, let the system detect column types, adjust the schema, and the data is live. For teams migrating off disconnected spreadsheets, the path just got materially shorter.
Live Boards sits on top of this. Feed it a Power Table and it turns rows into ranked leaderboards, KPI stat tiles, charts, and sparklines. Those displays surface on dashboards, on Digital Signage screens in the facility, in Present mode for team meetings, and via external embeds. This week, count aggregates were added to Live Boards — so teams can rank employees by the number of records associated with them (tickets resolved, incidents reported, leads created) without needing a separate numeric score column.
The effect is that operational data which used to live in someone's tracker or a department email thread can become a shared, visible display. That changes what teams pay attention to.
The Campaign-to-Completion Loop
A separate thread this week addressed a different kind of operational visibility: whether frontline communication and content actually land.
Content that reaches frontline workers is often the result of significant effort — safety campaigns, compliance briefings, policy updates. But most organizations have no reliable way to know whether that content reached the right person on the right day, let alone whether it was acted upon. The content goes out; what happens next is opaque.
Two features this week address the full arc of that cycle. On the creation and scheduling side, Frontline Execution: Scheduled Release Cadence gives campaign managers the ability to schedule content on a daily or weekly cadence, route it through publication approval workflows, set blackout periods, and run an AI editorial lint check before anything goes out. The result is content that moves through a governed pipeline instead of a one-off send.
On the receiving side, Frontline Execution Day Sheets give workers a structured view of every assignment they have for the day — not a notification that disappears, but a persistent record of what they need to do. Managers see the other side in a new Reviews surface that shows campaign completion in real time, with controls to reassign incomplete items, flag blockers, and close out finished campaigns.
This is the loop that most frontline communication tools are missing: not just delivery, but confirmation of delivery, and a clear path when delivery fails.
Proof That the Work Happened
The third thread this week was more distributed — a set of features that together answer the question: did the work actually happen, and can we prove it?
Before/after photo submissions in Contests let employees document work visually — the starting condition and the finished result, paired and timestamped. For a maintenance team completing a repair, a cleaning crew finishing a facility, or a retail team resetting a display, this is meaningful. The work leaves a record that is easy to review and hard to dispute.
Verified Credentials CSV export addresses a similar need on the qualifications side. Admins can now pull a full export of verified employee credentials from Skills & Certifications — including expiry status — and bridge that data to external training-record systems or apprenticeship programs. For any organization that needs to demonstrate workforce qualifications to a regulator, an auditor, or a partner, this export closes a gap that otherwise requires manual reconciliation every time someone asks.
Count aggregates for Live Boards rounds this out at the team level. When you can rank employees by how many records they have generated — checklist items completed, customers served, incidents filed — you do not just get a leaderboard. You get a signal about who is doing the work and at what volume. That is a fundamentally different kind of workforce data than attendance or hours logged.
What This Points Toward
None of these features, in isolation, solves the fundamental problem that frontline operations data is fragmented and often invisible. But together — a structured data layer, a campaign-to-completion loop, and tools for documenting and verifying work — they represent a meaningful shift in what is possible.
The organizations that are hardest to run are often the ones where the most work is happening but the least of it is recorded. Frontline teams generate enormous operational data every day: who was scheduled, who showed up, what tasks were completed, which communications were received, which credentials are current. Most of that data evaporates. It lives in shift logs that no one reads, in group chats that scroll out of view, in the heads of supervisors who eventually leave.
When that data has somewhere to go — when it can be captured, displayed, and acted on without requiring a separate analytics stack — operations managers can stop running on instinct and start running on evidence. Not because the instinct was wrong, but because now there is something to confirm or correct it.
That is what this week's releases have in common. The shift is quiet, but the direction is clear.
