Use cases

Auto-screen the overnight applicant rush
New applicants are parsed, scored against the job, and flagged with strengths and gaps automatically — recruiters walk in to a ranked shortlist instead of a stack of resumes.
Instant pipeline status check
A hiring manager asks "show me every candidate in the interview stage for the Senior Engineer role" in Ask AI and gets an immediate stage-by-stage summary.
Draft a competitive offer
HR requests an offer for a selected candidate; the agent generates a draft letter with market salary benchmarks and saves it for approval before anything reaches the candidate.
Personalized candidate outreach
The recruiter asks the agent to write an acknowledgment or passive-sourcing email; it drafts a tailored message with the candidate's strengths and holds it for review.
Compensation benchmarking
Before setting a salary band, a recruiter asks the agent to analyze market pay for a Product Manager role at a given level and location.
Hands-free application acknowledgments
With autonomous mode on, high-confidence acknowledgment emails go out on a 15-minute cadence while phone-screen invites and rejections still wait for approval.

FAQ

It parses the resume and scores the candidate against the job in a single AI call, rating technical skills, experience, education, and cultural fit, then combining them with weights you configure (they must total 100). Each screening returns strengths, gaps, deal-breakers, and a confidence rating. You can add company culture notes and custom screening instructions that apply to every candidate.

No. Outreach and offer letters are generated as drafts and route through an approval queue by default. The admin-only write actions in chat (advancing a candidate's stage or correcting contact info) show a diff preview and require an explicit Confirm before anything is written. Which actions require approval is configurable per type.

Autonomous mode is off until an admin turns it on. When enabled, it can auto-acknowledge new applications, auto-invite high-scoring candidates to phone screens, auto-decline low-scoring ones, and triage stalled candidates to recruiters — each gated by its own toggle. A scheduled scan runs every 15 minutes, a daily action limit (default 50) caps activity, progressive trust levels expand autonomy only as the agent proves reliable, and every action is logged. You can pause the agent at any time.

PDF, DOCX, and legacy .doc files up to 25 MB. Text is extracted locally first; scanned PDFs and image-based resumes fall back to OCR so they can still be parsed and scored.

Every screening decision passes through a bias-validation guardrail that keeps the assessment focused on job-related factors. Candidate PII is masked before each AI call, resumes and cover letters are treated as untrusted data (so hidden instructions in them can't hijack the model), and candidate names, emails, and scores are only exposed to recruiting staff — admins, HR admins, or designated recruiting/job-board app admins.

The agent works on your existing recruiting pipeline — the jobs and applicants managed in Job Board and Talent Hub. It reads and acts on that same candidate data rather than maintaining a separate database of its own.

Job Board and Talent Hub are where you post jobs, collect applications, and manage the pipeline. The Recruiting Agent is the AI layer on top of them: it screens and scores candidates, ranks them, drafts outreach and offers, coordinates interviews, and can run autonomously — all against the same candidate records. Use the apps to manage the pipeline; add the agent to automate the work inside it.

Reading and acting on candidate data (screening, ranking, scores, outreach, offers, interviews) is limited to recruiting staff: admins, HR admins, or app admins for the Recruiting Agent or Job Board. The direct write actions (advance stage, update contact info) are admin-only. Other people-managers can't pull candidate names, emails, or scores through the agent.

It requires a license and is opt-in per tenant — an administrator enables it for your business from the Apps Marketplace, and it's disabled by default until then. Contact your MangoApps administrator about enabling it.
