Overview
Recorder is the cloud side of screen capture. The desktop app records a region, a window, the whole screen or your camera for free and keeps the files on your computer; with Recorder enabled, one click uploads a recording or screenshot to a cloud library that plays on the web and on a phone, with a link you can paste anywhere.
Every recording starts private. Share it with named people as viewers or editors, or make it visible to the whole company; decide per recording whether viewers may download it; pin the ones you come back to; and recover anything you deleted for 30 days.
Admins choose the default visibility for new recordings, the upload size cap and whether downloads are allowed, and can restore a deleted recording from the recycle bin. Every recording is transcribed, summarised and split into chapters, plays on a phone, takes timestamped comments, and can be sent to a chat room or handed to an outsider through a public link with an expiry and a password. Hand-off into Training, SOP Hub and Libraries arrives in the following wave.

No. Capture, the tray section and the shortcuts are free and local. The app adds the cloud library, sharing and the upload actions; without it those actions simply do not appear.
Only its owner, until the owner shares it with named people or sets its visibility to Company. Admins do not get an implicit read of private recordings.
Up to the tenant's upload cap (default 1000 MB, admin-adjustable between 10 and 4000 MB). The desktop streams the file directly to storage, so multi-hundred-megabyte recordings upload without loading into memory.
