Overview
Recorder is the cloud side of screen capture. The desktop app records a region, a window, the whole screen or your camera for free and keeps the files on your computer; with Recorder enabled, one click uploads a recording or screenshot to a cloud library that plays on the web, on a phone and in a chat room, with a link you can paste anywhere. Recorder is for the screen and camera recordings you make on purpose — walkthroughs, how-tos, updates and bug reports — while AI Notepad is for meetings: their notes, transcripts, action items and decisions.
Every recording starts private. Share it with named people as viewers or editors, make it visible to the whole company, or hand it to an outsider through a public link with an expiry, a password or an email gate. Decide per recording whether viewers may download it, pin the ones you come back to, and recover anything you deleted for 30 days.
After upload, every video is transcribed, summarised and split into chapters, with captions translated into the workspace's languages, so people find it in search and Ask AI by what was said. Viewers leave timestamped comments; the owner sees plays, completion and drop-off, and can add a call-to-action whose clicks are counted. One menu turns a recording into a Training lesson, a draft SOP, a library item, a ticket comment, an AI-drafted bug report or a Practice Hub attempt — each offered only where that app is enabled.

No. Capture, annotation, trimming, the tray section and the shortcuts are free and local. Recorder adds the cloud library, sharing, transcripts and the upload actions; without it those actions simply do not appear.
Only its owner, until the owner shares it with named people or sets its visibility to Company. Admins configure the app and can restore deleted recordings, but get no implicit read of private ones.
Yes, through a public link, once an admin turns public links on. Each link can expire, carry a password, ask the viewer for an email before playing, cap its number of opens and allow or block download; the page wears your Portals branding.
The server makes a poster frame, transcribes the audio, writes a summary with chapters, and translates the captions into the workspace's enabled languages. Silent screen recordings finish without a transcript. Transcription and summaries draw on the shared AI wallet, and each step has an admin switch.

No. Recordings play on the web and on a phone, and the mobile library records straight from the phone's camera or uploads from the camera roll. The desktop app is where region, window, screen and camera capture with annotation and trimming happens.
Recorder is the successor to Classic's My Recordings: private and company visibility, sharing, public links, pins, the recycle bin, thumbnails, captions, the call-to-action and view insights each have a counterpart; hashtags and public-page colors do not. Classic recordings do not appear in Recorder on their own — ask MangoApps about scheduling the migration for your workspace.
Recorder requires a licence and is enabled per tenant by an admin. It is sold as a per-user add-on and is included in the AI Productivity suite alongside AI Notepad and AI Sheets. Transcription, summaries and caption translation meter through the shared AI wallet rather than the seat price.
