Recurring Training Classes — recurring instructor-led training sessions with attendance tracking
Instructor-led training sessions can now repeat. Choose Repeat on a session and its dates become one calendar series, so attendees see a single recurring event in Outlook or Google Calendar instead of an invite for every date. The same people carry from one date to the next, and you can add them one at a time, from a pasted list or by group, up to 1,000 people. Each class has a check-in code that people scan with their phone camera or type in, and instructors can mark everyone present, then mark the few who were absent, from a desktop or a phone. A course setting decides how credit is given: one completion after a set number of sessions, or each session counted on the transcript as its own completion. An instructor-led course can also include a sign-off checklist, and it completes only when the person has attended the class and every checklist item is signed.
Use case: An L&D team runs a weekly leadership class for 300 managers, and attendees check in by scanning a QR code at the door instead of being marked present one row at a time.
Available in: Training → Course → Sessions → Roster → Repeat; Training → Course → Sessions → Roster → Check-in code
Featured Files in Drive — pin important company documents for a team
Drive managers can now feature up to six important files for a chosen group of people, so the documents they need most often are easy to find. You can pick the group from saved audiences, departments, locations or job titles, without building a new audience first. Featured files appear at the top of the drive and on each person's Home page, on desktop and on the phone. Drive warns you when some people in the group can't open the file, and nobody is shown a featured file they don't have access to.
Use case: A grocery operations manager features the current deli food-safety checklist and the holiday schedule for everyone in the Deli department, and both appear on those employees' Home page.
Available in: Drive → File → ⋮ → Feature this file
Start-Day Invitations for New Hires — employee preboarding before the first day
HR can now add a new hire before their first day without them showing up in the company too early. When the person's start date is in the future, their sign-in invitation is held and goes out on the morning they start, in the company's time zone. Until then, onboarding emails and preboarding links go to the personal email address entered when the person is added. People who haven't started yet are left out of the people directory, the org chart and Communications audiences, while HR still sees them in its own lists, and Admin › Users shows "Starts" with their start date.
Use case: A retail HR coordinator adds a new store associate two weeks before they start, so the associate completes preboarding forms from their personal inbox and receives their work invitation on their first morning.
Available in: Employee Data Management → Add New User → Personal email; Admin → Users → Add New User → Personal email
