News Feed Redesign: Pinned Posts, SMEs, Feed Tabs, and Managed Topics — tabbed employee news feed with pinned posts and subject matter experts

The News Feed app now presents content in six clearly labeled tabs — All, Unread, Must Read, Operational, Social, and Pinned — each with a live post count so employees can immediately see what needs their attention. Admins can pin critical announcements to keep them visible at the top of the feed, create managed topics with manually assigned Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who are responsible for that content area, and target posts to specific audience segments with built-in validation. Authors always see their own posts regardless of audience rules, and the feed now supports infinite scroll for uninterrupted browsing.

Use case: An internal communications manager pins a mandatory policy update, assigns an HR SME to the Compliance topic, and targets the post to a specific department — employees in that group see the pinned item at the top of their feed with a Must Read badge.

Automatic Scheduled Merge.dev Data Syncs — scheduled accounting and HRIS data imports from Merge.dev integrations

Admins can now set a sync frequency — every 15 minutes, hourly, every 4 hours, daily, or other supported intervals — on any active Merge.dev integration, and the platform will automatically pull fresh records from the connected system on that schedule. Syncs use watermark-based delta pulls after the first full import, so only changed records are fetched, keeping data current without redundant API calls. This replaces the previous manual-only pull workflow and makes the sync frequency setting a fully functional control rather than a stored-but-unused preference.

Use case: A finance admin connects NetSuite via MangoSpend, sets the sync frequency to every hour, and from that point forward the platform automatically pulls updated invoice and vendor data without anyone clicking a button.

Team Builder — AI-powered project team assembly from workforce skill data

Managers can now describe a project in plain language or upload an RFP document, and the system uses AI to extract the required skills and automatically proposes a team drawn from the existing workforce. The results page shows which skill requirements are covered by proposed team members, flags gaps where no qualified employee exists, where a skill is not yet tracked in the system, or where only one person holds a critical skill (single point of failure), and lets the manager adjust the roster interactively before saving the plan as a point-in-time snapshot. The capability is also available through the Ask AI agent via a dedicated tool.

Use case: An engineering manager uploads a new client RFP, reviews the AI-proposed team, notices a gap in cloud security expertise, and uses that insight to plan a hire or training investment before the project kicks off.
