Email Digest Notifications — per-category notification frequency and email digest batching for workforce platforms

The platform now supports a unified email digest system that batches notification emails instead of sending each one individually. Employees can choose their preferred delivery frequency per notification category — immediate or daily digest — directly from their account notification preferences. Administrators can also set a business-wide daily email cap to prevent high-volume periods from overwhelming staff inboxes, with excess emails held and included in the next digest rather than dropped.

Use case: A frontline manager who receives dozens of shift-change and leave-request notifications each day can switch to a daily digest for those categories, receiving one consolidated summary email each morning instead of an alert for every individual event.

Skills API: Proficiency Levels Endpoint — REST API for employee skill proficiency scale labels and descriptions

A new REST endpoint, GET /api/v1/skills/proficiency_levels, returns the business's configured skill level names and descriptions for the 1–5 proficiency scale. This allows HR integrations, learning management systems, and custom dashboards to display or validate skill ratings using the same labels employees see inside the platform, without requiring hardcoded assumptions about what each numeric level means. The existing skills list endpoint also now correctly returns employee counts and average proficiency data when the ?detailed=true parameter is passed.

Use case: An L&D team building a custom training dashboard can call the proficiency levels endpoint to populate a skill-rating picker that matches the company's defined labels — such as "Developing," "Proficient," and "Expert" — keeping the integration consistent with what employees see in their profiles.
