Mango Spend — employee expense management with AI receipt extraction and payroll export

MangoApps now includes Mango Spend, a complete expense reimbursement solution for employees who incur out-of-pocket business costs. Employees can photograph receipts on mobile and let AI extract vendor name, date, amount, tax, and expense category automatically. Expenses are organized into reports with per-line categories, mileage tracking (with configurable cents-per-mile rates), and a built-in policy engine that flags cap violations, missing receipts, and blocked categories before submission. Reports flow through the shared multi-level approval workflow — managers can bulk-approve, reject, or send reports back — and finance teams can group approved reports into payment batches and download payroll-ready CSVs in generic, ADP, Gusto, or Paychex formats.

Mango Spend is designed for organizations where employees regularly cover work costs — travel, client meals, mileage, supplies — and need a structured way to submit and track reimbursements without relying on spreadsheets or separate expense tools. The Ask AI assistant can answer natural-language questions like "how much pending reimbursement do I have?" directly from employee data.

Use case: A field sales rep photographs receipts throughout the week on mobile, bundles them into a Friday expense report, and submits it for manager approval. Finance exports the approved batch to their payroll system at the end of the bi-weekly cycle without any manual data entry.

AI Plugin Builder V2 — build complex multi-table custom workplace apps with AI

The AI Plugin Builder has been upgraded to a new long-horizon agent architecture (V2) that is now the default for all new build sessions. Where the previous version used a phased approach that struggled with richly structured applications, V2 gives the AI agent file-system-level primitives — read, write, edit, validate, and deploy — so it can plan, build, verify, and fix a complete custom app inside a single continuous session. Applications with eight or more interconnected record types, complex relationships, and multi-step workflows can now be built to completion without the session stalling mid-build.

The builder UI is also more stable during long builds: the agent resumes automatically when it hits processing limits, the "Thinking" indicator remains active between tool calls so the current status is always visible, and the stop button stays accessible throughout the entire build.

Use case: A platform admin building a custom Vendor and Contract Management app — with vendors, contracts, renewal alerts, spend lines, and approver chains — can now complete the full build in one session rather than having the builder stop partway through and require manual intervention to continue.
