Product Update - July 28, 2026
Chat: Live Presence Status — real-time online and idle indicators across all of Chat
Presence status in Chat — online, idle, and offline — now updates in real time across every surface: the chat list, the People directory, and group member panels. Previously, status transitions were only visible to users who happened to share an open room, leaving every other view with a snapshot from the time the page loaded. Idle state and sign-out now also propagate correctly, so a user who steps away or logs out is shown as idle or offline within seconds rather than remaining green for minutes.
Use case: A team lead checks the chat list to see who is available before routing an urgent question — the presence dots reflect who is actually online right now, without anyone needing to open or refresh a conversation first.
Available in: Chat → Chat List, People Tab, Group Member Panel
Chat: Per-Room Group Permission Controls — granular member and messaging permissions for each chat room
Chat room administrators can now configure four independent permission settings on each room: who may add new members, who may view the full member list, who may send direct messages in the room, and who may send important (highlighted) messages. Each setting can be scoped to any member, admins only, or domain administrators, giving teams fine-grained control over how a room operates. These permissions are enforced server-side and apply immediately without any client update required.
Use case: A company-wide announcement room can be locked so that only HR domain admins may post, while a team coordination room keeps all four permissions open — each managed independently without touching the other.

Automation Hub: New AI Visibility Views and Proactive Commitment Detection — measure AI outcomes and surface meeting commitments automatically
Automation Hub now includes three new views alongside the existing activity feed. The Outcomes view presents a measured ledger of actions taken by AI agents alongside a modeled capacity range, giving administrators a concrete picture of what the AI has done and its estimated impact. The Agent Profiles view shows the employment-contract-style description for each active agent, clarifying what it is permitted to do. The AI Channels view maps which capabilities are available in Workforce Chat versus connected platforms such as Slack or Microsoft Teams.
On the proactive detection side, the ambient scanner now identifies meeting proposals and first-person commitments (e.g., "I'll follow up by Friday") in addition to unanswered questions. Detected items become confirmation-gated suggestions — the AI surfaces them without taking action unless a participant explicitly approves, following the same approval path already used for mention-driven actions.
Use case: A manager reviews the Outcomes view at the end of the week to see how many approvals, scheduling requests, and follow-up tasks were handled by AI agents — and checks Agent Profiles to confirm what each agent is authorized to do before enabling it for their team.
Available in: Ask AI → Automation Hub → Outcomes / Agent Profiles / AI Channels
