Frame and Unibody Straightening Equipment Inspection

Inspection template for verifying frame bench, towers, clamps, measuring systems, and related safety devices are in safe, accurate working condition before structural pulls in a body shop.

Inspection Details

• Inspection date and time recorded
• Inspector name and role recorded
• Equipment identification recorded
  Record frame rack or bench ID, bay number, and any attached measuring system identifier.
• Equipment has been idle for 3 months or more
  If yes, inspection must be completed by a qualified person before use.

Frame Bench and Anchoring

• Frame bench surface is level, stable, and free of visible damage
• Anchors, floor mounts, and tie-down points are secure and undamaged
• Hydraulic lines, hoses, and fittings show no leaks, abrasion, or kinks
• Power unit, pump, and controls operate normally
• Work area around the bench is clear of trip hazards and obstructions

Towers, Pulling Hardware, and Clamps

• Pulling towers move, lock, and hold position correctly
• Chains, hooks, and pulling attachments are free of cracks, deformation, or excessive wear
• Clamps and grip points are clean, aligned, and hold securely without slippage
• Fasteners, pins, and locking devices are present and functioning
• No unauthorized adapters or improvised rigging are in use

Measuring System Accuracy

• Measuring system components are present, clean, and undamaged
• Reference points, scales, and indicators are legible and not worn
• Measuring system zero check completed
• Measured deviation from reference is within manufacturer tolerance
  Record the observed deviation or calibration check result.
• Measuring system calibration status is current

Safety Devices, Documentation, and Release

• Emergency stop and safety controls are accessible and functional
• Required PPE is available and being used for the inspection and planned pull
• Deficiencies identified and corrective actions documented
• Equipment released for structural pulls
• Inspector signature
