Chip Fill and Credit Procedure SOP
Chip Fill and Credit Procedure SOP
Standard procedure for requesting, preparing, verifying, and documenting chip fills to tables and credits returned to the cage with dual signatures.
Steps
-
Verify the fill or credit request
The cage cashier verifies the fill/credit request against the signed manager authorization form, confirming requestor identity, chip denomination, and amount within ±$0 tolerance; if discrepancy found, escalate to cage supervisor before proceeding.
-
Prepare the chip transfer
The cage cashier stages the exact chip denominations in a controlled tray or rack, separating each denomination and matching the staged total to the approved request; if chips are missing, mixed, or damaged, stop the transfer and notify the cage supervisor for resolution.
-
Count and verify the chip amount
The cage cashier and a second authorized employee independently count the chips by denomination and confirm the total matches the approved request within ±0 chips; if any variance is found, stop the transfer, recount both counts, and escalate to the cage manager before release.
-
Complete the fill or credit slip
The cage cashier completes the fill or credit slip with the date, time, table number, amount, denominations, and reason for transfer, then checks that every required field is legible and matches the approved request; if any field is missing or unclear, correct it before obtaining signatures.
-
Obtain dual signatures
The authorized sender and receiver each review the same completed slip or linked record and sign only after confirming the amount, denominations, and table or cage details; if either signature is missing, illegible, or from an unauthorized person, stop the transfer and escalate to the supervisor.
-
Deliver or receive the chips
The cage cashier or designated table representative transports the chips directly to the approved location while maintaining continuous control and confirming the handoff against the signed slip; if the destination, count, or recipient does not match the record, stop the handoff and notify the supervisor immediately.
-
Reconcile the transfer record
The cage cashier compares the physical chip count, signed slip, and transfer log entry, then confirms the record matches the completed transaction and files any variance report; if the physical count and record do not match, document the discrepancy and escalate to the cage manager for immediate review.
