• Invoice includes date of sale and product description
• Invoice or record is retained in an auditable location
• Record retention period meets company policy

Counter Controls and Exception Handling

• System prompts or register controls prevent sale without certification verification
• Any exception or override was approved by a supervisor and documented
• Deficiencies were logged with corrective action owner and due date
