Ship Security Plan Implementation

• Security measures in the Ship Security Plan are implemented as written
• Security duties and watchstanding assignments are posted and followed
• Security drills or exercises are conducted at the required frequency
• Security records are current, legible, and retained per procedure
• Any deviations from the Ship Security Plan are documented and approved

Ship Security Officer Duties

• SSO understands and can explain current security level requirements
• SSO verifies access control measures at all entry points
• SSO monitors restricted areas and responds to unauthorized access attempts
• SSO maintains communication with the Company Security Officer and Master
• SSO logs security concerns, incidents, and corrective actions

Access Control and Restricted Areas

• All access points are controlled by authorized personnel or approved systems
• Visitor identification is checked and recorded before boarding
• Crew and contractor credentials are valid and visibly displayed where required
• Restricted areas are clearly marked and physically secured
• Unauthorized access attempts are detected, recorded, and escalated

Security Equipment and Monitoring

• CCTV, alarms, lighting, and other security equipment are operational
• Security equipment maintenance and testing records are available
• Restricted-area monitoring is continuous or performed at required intervals
• Any security equipment deficiencies are reported and tracked to closure

Emergency Response and Sign-off

• Security incident response actions are understood by crew on duty
• Inspector signature captured
• Master or authorized representative acknowledgment captured
