  • Secondary containment or drip control is in place and sized appropriately for the operation
  • Overfill prevention controls are present and functional where applicable
  • Spill kits are positioned within immediate reach of the transfer area

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Required PPE is specified by the task hazard assessment or SOP
  • Operators are wearing required eye and face protection, gloves, and protective clothing
  • Respiratory protection is available and used when required by the hazard assessment
  • PPE is clean, serviceable, and correctly sized for the task

Emergency Response Readiness

  • Emergency shutdown procedure is posted or immediately available
  • Eyewash and safety shower are accessible, unobstructed, and within required travel distance
  • Communication method for summoning emergency assistance is functional and known to operators
  • Spill response roles and escalation steps are understood by the crew
