Pre-Operation Readiness

• Wash bay area is clean, dry, and free of slip/trip hazards
• Drainage, berms, and containment surfaces are intact and unobstructed
• Eyewash and emergency shower are accessible and unobstructed
• Required chemical SDS and wash procedure are available at point of use
• Ventilation is operating as required for the cleaning process

Chemical Application and Dwell Time

• Cleaning chemical matches the approved product for this tank and soil type
• Chemical concentration is within the approved operating range
• Chemical dwell time meets the required minimum
• Chemical application was uniform across all required interior surfaces
• Rinse or neutralization step followed the approved procedure

PPE Compliance

• Chemical-resistant gloves are worn and in good condition
• Eye and face protection is worn as required
• Protective clothing or apron is worn where splash exposure is possible
• Respiratory protection is used when required by the hazard assessment
• PPE is donned before chemical handling begins and removed only after decontamination

Chemical Capture and Environmental Controls

• All wash water and chemical runoff are captured within the approved containment system
• No visible discharge to floor drains, storm drains, or uncontrolled areas
• Capture equipment, filters, and hoses are connected and functioning
• Spent chemicals and wastewater are labeled and staged for proper disposal or treatment
• Secondary containment remains free of overflow and visible leaks

Certificate and Documentation Verification

• Cleaning certificate is completed for the tank or container cleaned
• Certificate includes tank ID, date/time, chemical used, and inspector/operator identification
• Required signatures are present and legible
• Any deviations, rework, or corrective actions are documented
