Foundation Pre-Pour Inspection

Project and Pour Readiness

• Project name, location, and pour area identified
• Pre-pour inspection performed before concrete delivery begins
• Approved drawings, specifications, and latest revision available on site
• Weather and site conditions acceptable for placement

Formwork and Subgrade Readiness

• Formwork line, grade, and dimensions match approved layout
• Forms are secure, braced, and free of visible movement or gaps
• Subgrade/base is compacted, trimmed, and free of standing water or loose material
• Vapor barrier, if specified, is installed intact and lapped/sealed per project requirements

Rebar Size, Placement, and Spacing

• Rebar size matches approved drawings and bar schedule
• Rebar spacing matches approved drawings
• Reinforcement is properly supported on chairs/spacers and not resting on subgrade
• Rebar is tied, secured, and free of displacement before pour
• Splices, laps, and bar continuity appear consistent with approved details

Concrete Cover and Edge Conditions

• Concrete cover meets project requirements at bottom reinforcement
• Concrete cover meets project requirements at side and edge conditions
• Reinforcement is clear of form faces, penetrations, and embedded items

Dowels, Embeds, and Slab Penetrations

• Dowels are installed at correct size, quantity, and spacing
• Dowels are aligned and adequately embedded per approved detail
• Sleeves, blockouts, embeds, and slab penetrations are correctly located and secured
• Openings and penetrations are clearly marked and protected from displacement during pour

Final Pre-Pour Acceptance

• All deficiencies and non-conformances documented with corrective actions
• Inspector approval to proceed with concrete placement
• Inspector signature
