FAQ
Checks are ordered one candidate at a time from inside the recruiting workflow — you choose a screening package at order time and the app places the order with your configured provider. There is no bulk or batch ordering today. Status flows back automatically, a completed check triggers a notification, and you can cancel a pending check (the cancellation is synced back to the provider).
Four standard packages: Basic Criminal (SSN trace, national criminal database, sex-offender registry), Pro Criminal (adds county and federal criminal searches), Comprehensive (adds employment, education, and reference verification), and Executive (adds credit report, civil court, media search, and extended history). Your provider can also define custom packages, which appear automatically at order time.
Checkr, Sterling, and HireRight. Each supports ordering, status tracking, and cancellation. You can configure more than one at a time and choose a preferred provider, and an admin can test the connection and store the API key and webhook secret per provider. Checkr delivers real-time status via signed webhooks; Sterling and HireRight status currently arrives through the automatic polling backstop and on-demand manual sync.
Clear results can be auto-approved if an admin enables it. "Consider" and "suspended" results go to a manual-review queue where a recruiting admin records a decision — approved, rejected, conditional, or needs review — with notes. Every decision, the adjudicator, and the timestamp are written to the audit log, and the candidate's status updates automatically.
It tracks the FCRA disclosure and the candidate's authorization, and can auto-send the disclosure/authorization request. When a check is adjudicated as rejected, the app sends the pre-adverse action notice, waits out a configurable waiting period (0–30 days, default 5), and then sends the final adverse-action notice automatically. If the candidate disputes the report, recording the dispute holds the final notice until it's resolved. Adverse items are extracted and stored, and the full sequence is logged.
Yes. Managers and admins see all checks with filters and the pending-adjudication queue on mobile; other users see only their own check. The list and detail views work from any device.
The Ask AI agent is read-only: it lists background checks (with status, adjudication, or provider filters), pulls the details of a specific check, and summarizes overall metrics such as totals, status breakdown, and average time to complete. It never orders or adjudicates checks, and an admin can turn it off per business.
It's pay-as-you-go — there is no license to buy and it's available to every tenant. You're billed per check you run, and the screening provider's own fees apply to each order.
The results list shows 25 per page on desktop and 20 on mobile, the Ask AI agent returns up to 50 checks per request, the FCRA waiting period is configurable from 0 to 30 days, and pending checks are polled for status updates for up to 90 days after they're created.
