Personal Home Layouts — personalized employee home page and dashboard

Employees can now arrange their own home page. On dashboards where an administrator turns on personal layouts, people get a "Customize this page" link. They can drag cards into a different order, move them between columns, hide the ones they don't need and go back to the company layout at any time. A personal layout sits on top of the company's published dashboard, so a card the admin adds later still reaches everyone and a card the admin removes is removed for everyone. Admins can see how many people have their own layout and reset them if needed.

Use case: A store manager moves the shift coverage and approvals cards to the top of their home page and hides the cards they never use, while the rest of the store keeps the standard layout chosen by HR.

Available in: Home → Admin → Dashboard Builder → Personal layouts

Workspace Messages Stream — see posts from all your team workspaces in one place

The Workspace app has a new Messages section that brings together the message board posts from every workspace a person belongs to, with the most recently active posts first. Until now, someone in ten workspaces had to open each one to find out what was new. Filters narrow the stream to unread posts and new replies, mentions, announcements or a single workspace. People can react and reply right on each post card, on desktop and on the phone, and each workspace's pinned posts now lead its own board.

Use case: A project manager who belongs to eight client and team workspaces starts the day in Messages, filters to their mentions, and answers each question in place without opening eight separate boards.

Available in: Workspace → Messages

Missed-Break Premium Pay — automatic meal and rest break premium pay for labor law compliance

Break rules can now pay a premium when employees miss a required break: one hour of pay for a missed meal break and one hour for a missed rest break each day, as required in states such as California. The premium is worked out in dollars from the employee's base rate whenever a punch closes or its breaks change, and the same amount appears on the timesheet, the payroll report and payroll exports. Employees also see a single break panel on the time clock, kiosk and phone that shows whether the break is paid or unpaid, when it started, when they are due back and a live countdown.

Use case: A restaurant group in California turns on the premium for its break rule, so an employee who works through lunch gets the extra hour of pay on their timesheet automatically instead of a manager having to add it by hand before payroll.

Available in: Time & Attendance → Admin → Labor Law Rules → Violations pay a 1-hour premium
