Onboarding Hub onboarding (new hires ready for day one)

Frequently asked questions
How long does a new-hire onboarding rollout take?
Four to eight weeks to a first real hire. The software configuration takes days; the time goes into finding the person behind each task — who orders the laptop at each site, who verifies the I-9 — and into the paperwork each region requires. Go-live is a named new hire's first day, so the date is set by a hiring decision rather than by the project.
How many onboarding templates does a company need?
Usually three to five: one per kind of hire that genuinely differs — hourly and salaried, a new people leader, an internal transfer — narrowed by department or location where those change the plan. Templates are matched to each hire automatically, most specific first, so a template per job title is rarely needed and quickly goes out of date.
What most often goes wrong on a new hire's first day?
A request that reached the wrong person. Equipment and workspace requests go out before the start date, and when no recipient has been set they reach an administrator rather than whoever orders laptops at that site. Naming a real person or group for every task before the first hire is the single most valuable step in the rollout.
Can new hires without a work email use the preboarding portal?
Yes. The portal link is normally emailed to the hire's personal address, and the coordinator can copy the link from the plan and send it by text instead. The hire completes forms and documents on their phone before their first day.
