Reach whoever is on shift right now
When you need whoever is working a role right now — the shift lead at a store,
whoever is in charge on a unit — you don’t need to know who that is today.
Chat looks it up and lets you message them.
Someone is on shift while they are clocked in, or on a scheduled shift that
covers now. All of this works in the OneMango Desktop app, on the web and on
the phone.
Message who’s on shift at a location
- Start a new message and choose Message who’s on shift….
- Pick the Location, and a Role — or Anyone on shift — then choose
Show who’s on shift. - Message one of them, or all of them together in a group.
You can pick the locations you are assigned to, and the sites beneath them.
Managers and Chat admins can pick any location. If you aren’t assigned to a
location yet, there is nobody to look up — your manager can add you to one.
A group holds up to 20 people, you included. When more people than that are on
shift, or nobody is, Chat offers the location’s channel instead, if you are in
it and can post there. People your company keeps apart from you are left out,
and the list says how many.
See who’s on shift in a conversation
In a group or a channel, the header shows On shift now: and a count, on
the desktop app and the web — select it to see who, and message them. On the
phone, the conversation’s members page marks who is on shift. A one-to-one
conversation never shows it, and nor does a conversation whose members you
can’t see.
Notify everyone on shift with @onshift
Write @onshift in a message to notify everyone in the conversation who is on
shift now — never you. It does nothing in a one-to-one conversation.
Your company’s Chat settings say who may use it. By default that is managers,
people who lead a team, and the conversation’s own admins. Anyone else who
tries is told “You can’t use @channel, @here, @onshift or group mentions here.
Your company’s Chat settings say who can.” When it would notify more than 10
people, Chat asks you to confirm before sending.
