Answer what’s waiting on you without leaving Chat
Approvals waiting on you, and Must-Reads and other things you can acknowledge
or sign in one click, also arrive in Chat — in a conversation called Needs
you, as cards you can answer there. They still wait in your inbox too, and
answering in either place is enough.
Answering a card
- An approval — choose Approve or Decline on the card. When a
decline needs a reason, the card says Open to decline and opens the item. - A Must-Read or a sign-off — choose Acknowledge or Sign. When it
asks you to confirm some statements first, the card says Open to finish. - Decided somewhere else — the card says it is already handled, and is no
longer waiting on you.
A card in your Needs you conversation is yours alone: nobody else can answer
it. Answering it does exactly what answering it on its own page does, with the
same checks.
Turning the cards on or off
Two switches in your notification settings, on the web, decide what reaches
Needs you. Both are on unless you turn them off:
- Approvals in Chat — approvals waiting on you.
- Acknowledgements and sign-offs in Chat — Must-Reads and other things
you can acknowledge or sign in one click.
In the OneMango Desktop app, Change what Chat sends you in the Needs you
conversation opens that page. Turning a switch off only stops the cards: the
approvals and acknowledgements still wait for you in your inbox.
Good to know
- You can’t write in Needs you: it only brings the cards.
- If your company has turned one-to-one messages off in Chat, no cards arrive
in Chat at all.
