JIRA is an issue tracking service that allows teams to capture and organize issues.

This integration will allow you to receive updates into a MangoApps team for the following JIRA events:

  • An issue is created or re-opened
  • An issue is updated to "in progress" or "to do" or "done"
  • Priority of the issue is changed
  • Description of the issue is modified
  • A file is attached to the issue
  • A comment is posted on the issue
  • More statuses and transitions will be supported in a future update

This integration also allows posting from MangoApps back to JIRA:

  • Post a comment (without attachments)
  • Team admins control which team members can post a comment to JIRA

Here are the steps necessary to add the JIRA integration.

Setup instructions to follow on MangoApps side

Step 1:

In your team (project, group or department) click on Configure Integrations in the Admin Tools (“…”) menu.

Please note: You need to be the team admin to configure JIRA for your team.

Step 2:

Enable JIRA in the list of integrations.

Please note: If you don’t see JIRA, please contact your domain administrator to enable it from ‘Admin Portal > Integrations > All’ page.

Step 3:

In the JIRA settings dialog, enter your JIRA site URL, User Name that is part of the admin group in JIRA (e.g., admin) and the password. Use the test connection button to check for connectivity and correctness of login credentials. Use the ‘Click here’ button to fetch projects and then Select 1 or more of the JIRA projects from which the issues will be posted into this team. You will be required to select a minimum of 1 JIRA project from the dropdown. Optionally enter the names of team members who can post a comment back from MangoApps to JIRA. If you don’t want to have any member post back to JIRA, you can leave this blank. Click the Save Settings  button when you are done.

Please note: The user needs to be part of the admin group in JIRA (e.g., admin) to setup the webhook integration automatically and for JIRA issues to be posted into MangoApps.

Setup instructions to follow on JIRA side

Since MangoApps automatically does the webhook configuration using the admin user account you provided above, there is no setup required on JIRA side for this integration to work. It’s that easy!
