Assemble one complete welcome pack

For operators learning the sample paper-pack task: assemble the contents in order, verify the counts and orientation, then pass or hold the pack.

Fictional sample task: one welcome card, one local guide, two blank note cards, and one kraft envelope. The four steps below include the acceptance check and the team-lead handoff for an incomplete pack.

Four steps to assemble the sample pack: count one welcome card, one local guide, two note cards and one envelope; stack upright; insert; check or hold if incomplete.

Build and check the pack

Follow the steps in order. The written descriptions state each visual cue in words.

  1. 1

    Count the five pieces

Lay out one welcome card, one local guide, two separate blank note cards and one kraft envelope.
  2. 2

Stack with the top edge up

Place the welcome card on top, the local guide in the middle and both blank note cards at the back. Keep printed text facing up, with top edges pointing the same way.
  3. 3

    Slide the stack inside

Put one stack into the kraft envelope. Keep the flap open so you can make the final count and orientation check.
  4. 4

    Check: ready or hold

Check that all five pieces are present and printed text is upright. If complete, close the flap. If the guide is missing or another check fails, keep the pack open and separate, then tell the team lead.

Pass or hold

If the guide is missing, the pack stays open and separate for the team lead. The illustration and written steps describe the same check.

Welcome card
Pass:
1; printed front up
Hold:
Missing or wrong count
Local guide
Pass:
1; printed front up
Hold:
Missing — worked example
Blank note cards
Pass:
2; blank sides up
Hold:
Fewer or more than 2
Kraft envelope
Pass:
1; flap closed after final check
Hold:
Keep the pack open for review

Set an incomplete pack aside

Plain-text handoff: keep the pack open, keep its contents together, and tell the team lead what failed the check.

  • Keep the envelope unsealed and place it with the incomplete contents.
  • Tell the team lead which item or count is missing or incorrect.
  • Wait for the team lead's direction before treating the pack as complete.

Example handoff: “This pack is on hold because the local guide is missing. The welcome card and both blank note cards are here; the envelope is still open.”
