Customer handoff: pass on confirmed information
Keep the operational decision and customer message connected.
Worked example: Dispatch checks the current approved alternative for the affected load and confirms the revised movement details. Customer Support then communicates the confirmed expectation and the time of the next update. If dispatch has not confirmed an estimate, Support says that timing is still being checked rather than presenting a guess as fact.
- Dispatch confirms the lane impact and whether the approved alternative applies to the specific movement.
- Dispatch shares the confirmed operational details and the next review time with Customer Support.
- Customer Support gives the customer the confirmed expectation and records any open question for the next handoff.
- If a question involves safety-critical, regulated or sensitive work, pause the general handoff and use the applicable approved local procedure with the trained role responsible for that work.
