Autumn term readiness milestones

  1. 19 August 2027: Complete the access check

Teaching and support staff check that their required campus and work-system access is available. Route access problems to the IT Service Lead.

  2. 21 August 2027: Walk through teaching and shared rooms

Teaching staff check assigned teaching spaces; estates staff inspect room condition and report facilities issues. Record each issue with a room, clear description, owner role, and next step.

  3. 24 August 2027: Attend the staff briefing

Faculty and school or campus staff review operational changes, open readiness issues, and role-based support routes.

  4. 26 August 2027: First teaching day

Use the agreed local room and access references for day-one arrangements. Direct unresolved facilities issues to the Estates Lead and student-support questions to the Student Support Lead.

Readiness by role

Check the needs that match your work, then route an unresolved issue to the role responsible for that service.

Teaching staff

  • Check entry and work-system access by 19 August.
  • Walk through the assigned teaching room on 21 August and note room-specific issues.
  • Bring unresolved teaching-space or access items to the 24 August briefing.

School and campus support staff

Check the shared services and spaces that help teaching begin smoothly.

  • Confirm the access needed for your support duties by 19 August.
  • During the 21 August walk-through, record shared-space issues and the role that owns each next step.
  • Use the 24 August briefing to raise support-route or operational-change questions.

Route questions to the right role

IT: The IT Service Lead handles staff access and work-system access issues. Include the affected service and the work task you cannot complete; do not include student personal information.

Estates: The Estates Lead owns room-condition and facilities follow-up. Provide the room identifier, observable issue, and the next teaching or support milestone affected.

Student support: The Student Support Lead directs staff to the applicable local student-support route. Use the current, approved destination for student-support or safeguarding matters; this example does not specify a procedure or contact route.

At the 24 August briefing: Review open issues with their owner role and next step. If an issue remains unresolved, ask its named service owner for the current escalation route rather than assuming another team owns it.
