Three shared priorities for the example school year

Illustrative Northstar priorities—not a statement of any customer network's commitments.

Consistent staff access: make shared guidance easier to locate across schools.

Clearer service ownership: help staff identify whether a need belongs to a network service or a local school role.

More useful cross-school coordination: share the outcome, local context, owner, and next check-in when work spans schools.

These are network-wide focus areas in the example. Each school retains responsibility for explaining its own context and decisions through its established channels.

Coordinate a shared piece of work

Worked example: several schools want to make staff guidance easier to find.

  1. 1

    Agree on the common outcome

School representatives and a central-office coordinator define success as staff being able to find the current shared guidance from the same starting point.

  2. 2

    Record differences that matter

Each school notes which existing local pages or established routes staff rely on, so the shared approach does not erase useful local context.

  3. 3

Name owners and the next check-in

The coordinator records the shared page owner, each school's local contact role, and the next meeting where unresolved differences will be discussed.

  4. 4

Share progress through the established team channel

Post a short update with the outcome, decisions made, open questions, and next check-in date in the channel already used by the participating teams.
