Start with the role that owns the local context

Role assignments vary between schools. Use the contact route already established by your school rather than assuming a network-wide person or inbox is responsible.

In this fictional example, a school operations lead explains location-specific context, a central service owner coordinates shared network questions, and a cross-school coordinator helps connect the two when work spans sites. These are role descriptions, not real staff assignments or contact details.

Hand off a need that spans schools

  1. 1

    Describe the scope

Name the school or schools affected and state whether the question is common across them or specific to one location.

  2. 2

    Start with the local owner

For a school-specific constraint or decision, use that school's established contact route and ask the responsible role to explain the local context.

  3. 3

Include the central owner when the shared source is involved

If the network-wide guidance, shared service, or common approach needs attention, involve its responsible central role and summarize the local context already gathered.

  4. 4

    Agree the next handoff

Record who will take the next action, what question remains open, and when the participating roles will check progress through their established team channel.
