Learn whether the program works for participants
Review the experience, not people’s health
Northstar’s sample review focuses on whether activities were understandable, accessible, and worth offering again. It does not measure health outcomes or ask participants to share diagnoses, treatment, or other sensitive personal details.
Use feedback to improve the program itself: its timing, format, communications, and range of choices.
Practical review questions
Keep feedback voluntary, focused, and proportionate.
What can we ask after an activity?
Ask about the experience: “Were the joining details clear?” “Which format worked for you?” and “What would make this activity easier to take part in?”
How should we gather responses?
Use an approved feedback channel, explain who can access responses, and make participation optional. Do not request medical, diagnostic, or personal financial details.
How do we interpret mixed feedback?
Look for practical themes rather than treating a small number of comments as representative of everyone. Note uncertainty and avoid attaching comments to identifiable participants.
What should happen when feedback raises a concern?
Record the program issue without repeating personal details, route any operational concern to the appropriate existing role, and tell participants what program change follows when practical.
Turn feedback into a visible improvement
Worked example: a session’s joining details were hard to find.
-
1
Ask a focused question
After a sample learning session, ask: “Was it clear how to join, and what would have made the instructions easier to use?”
-
2
Group practical themes
The review partner notes that several responses mention the joining link being separated from the calendar invitation. Keep the summary free of names and personal disclosures.
-
3
Choose a specific change
For the next session, the activity lead puts the joining link and access notes together in the invitation.
-
4
Check the change
Ask whether the updated instructions were easier to find, then record the result and any remaining issue for the next program review.
