A shared delivery window needs one agreed handoff
Worked example — Cedar Quay: the façade-installation subcontractor and the electrical subcontractor both request the 10:00–11:00 delivery window. The façade delivery is planned for the east receiving area first; the electrical delivery has requested that same window for materials bound for a separate work area.
The supervisors compare the requests through the project’s current coordination process before treating either time as confirmed. They identify the overlap, ask the project logistics coordination role to resolve the shared slot, then communicate the agreed sequence and owner back to both employers.
This note illustrates coordination only. It does not set site routes, authorize a delivery, or replace approved project controls, permits, or method statements.
What each supervisor does
Name the overlap, request a decision from the project coordination role, and relay the confirmed outcome to the affected employer.
Façade subcontractor supervisor
Share the requested window and receiving-area need through the project’s current coordination process. Keep the request pending until the project logistics coordination role confirms the slot.
- Identify the delivery as façade materials.
- Flag the overlap with the electrical request.
- Relay the agreed sequence to the façade crew.
Electrical subcontractor supervisor
Share the electrical delivery request and destination through the same coordination route. Confirm any change with the project logistics coordination role before briefing the electrical crew.
- Identify the delivery as electrical materials.
- Note that the 10:00–11:00 window is shared.
- Relay the confirmed sequence to the electrical crew.
Example coordination sequence
-
Before the requested window
Before the requested window: Both supervisors flag the overlap
The façade and electrical supervisors identify that their separate delivery requests share 10:00–11:00.
-
Before either request is treated as confirmed
Before either request is treated as confirmed: Project logistics resolves the shared slot
The project logistics coordination role checks the requests through the current project process and communicates the agreed sequence.
-
After the decision
After the decision: Each supervisor briefs their own crew
Both supervisors pass on the confirmed coordination outcome and direct any unresolved change back to the project logistics coordination role.
