Take part in the October updates

Two chances to contribute this month at Cedar House: explore everyday reuse ideas, or try a quieter place to focus.

Two updates, different kinds of participation

The repair-and-reuse session is a scheduled opportunity to learn together. The quiet-workspace pilot is a local trial with feedback gathered from participating colleagues.

Repair-and-reuse session

Bring a question about an everyday item and take part in a practical discussion of repair and reuse ideas. This is a learning session, not a repair service.

  • Thursday 22 October · 12:30–13:15 or 17:15–18:00
  • Cedar House workshop room · bring a question or photo

Quiet-workspace pilot

A participating site is testing a designated quiet area for focused work and collecting feedback on how it works in practice.

  • 12–30 October · weekdays 09:00–17:00
  • Room 2 beside reception · share feedback with the Workplace Coordinator

What happens next

  1. 12 October: Quiet workspace opens

Try Room 2 at Cedar House for individual focused work.

  2. 22 October: Repair and reuse discussions

Two sessions in the workshop room: 12:30 and 17:15.

  3. 30 October: Pilot feedback closes

Send one useful observation to the Workplace Coordinator: what helped, what got in the way and what to try next.

A place for later shifts, too

The later repair-and-reuse session repeats the lunchtime discussion. If neither time fits your shift, pass a question or photograph to the session organizer through your team lead; the organizer will include it in the discussion notes.

The quiet room is only open during the pilot hours. Tell the Workplace Coordinator if those hours exclude you so the review captures that gap.
