Misc Web Portal Enhancements

New advanced display for compose, file improvements, library module enhancements, upgraded reports and more are some of the enhancements done on the web portal in this release

Advanced compose

  • Domain admins have a new setting to setup the compose dropdown from under Domain > Compose
  • Compose type can be set to
    • Basic
    • Advanced
  • Basic type of compose is a direct list of actions to share / create for the enabled modules. This is the default option (same as today)
  • Advanced type of compose is the new option which is a list of categories (e.g., share, engage etc) and under each category there are the share / create actions. If the module is disabled then the corresponding action under compose is hidden. If all the action under a category are hidden then the category is automatically hidden as well.
  • Advanced type of compose will be applied for all network users in the domain. Guest users will always see the basic type of compose.

 

File improvements in library & attach dialog

  • Library Items

    • Ability to search for MangoApps files and add them as library items capability has been added
    • The search term will be used to find matching files by doing a deep search in the full file content
    • Search will return matching files with full company access & files in public teams
    • Matching file results can be sorted by recently updated and file name

  • Attach Dialog

    • Ability to search for MangoApps files by doing a deep search in the full file content has been added
    • Search will return matching files that the user has at-least view permission on
    • Matching file results can be sorted by recently updated and file name

Reporting enhancements

  • Active Users Report

    • A new sheet ‘User Access Data’ has been added in the report
    • This sheet provides insights for
      • Login & logout of each user
      • Mobile app launch & close by each user
    • The report sheet includes the following main columns
      • User – Full name of the user
      • Login/Access Time – This is the login/access time for the user
      • Logout/Left Time – This is the logout/left time for the user
      • Access Platform – This is the platform from which the login/access was done e.g., Web, iPad, iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux
      • Session Time – This is a computed field (Logout/Left Time – Login/Access Time)
      • IP Address – This is the ip address of the user at the time of access (if available)
    • This report is available to only domain admins

  • Users Activity Report

    • A new sheet ‘Detailed Activity Data’ has been added in the report
    • This sheet provides insights for every user’s views, reactions on the content shared in MangoApps
    • The report sheet includes the following main columns
      • User – Full name of the user
      • Content Title – Title of the content or the first 100 chars (when no title is available e.g., updates, questions)
      • Content Type – Type of the content – Post, Page, File, Update Question etc
      • Content Author – User who created the content
      • Content Created Time – Time when the content was created
      • Views – Total number of times the content has been viewed by the user
      • Comments & Replies – Total count of comments & replies by the user
      • Reaction – Total count of reactions by the user
      • First Viewed – This is the time the content was first viewed by the user
      • Last Viewed – This is the time when the content was last viewed by the user. This does not apply for updates & question type of content.
    • This sheet of the report is available to only domain admins

  • Team Usage Report

    • The ‘Data’ has added new columns to provide richer insights for the team in the specified time range
    • The new columns include
      • Unique user reactions – Count of unique users who have reacted on one of more items in the team during the report time period
      • Unique user comments & replies – Count of unique users who have commented or replied on one of more items in the team during the report time period
      • Unique user file views – Count of unique users who have viewed one or more files in the team during the report time period
      • Unique user file downloads – Count of unique users who have downloaded one or more files in the team during the report time period
      • Unique user content shares – Count of unique users who have shared one or more items in the team with other users or teams during the report time period. Share is counted when a link of an item is copied or when a news feed is share action is taken.
      • Unique user pinned content – Count of unique users who have pinned one or more items in the team during the report time period
      • Unique active members – Count of unique team members who have been active in the team during the report time period. Active member is defined as any team member who has posted new content, reaction, comment/reply, viewed/downloaded a file, pinned or shared content in the team during the report time period
      • Unique active users – Count of unique users who have been active in the team during the report time period. Active user is defined as any user who has posted new content, reaction, comment/reply, viewed/downloaded a file, pinned or shared content in the team during the report time period
      • Total file views – Total count of files viewed in the team during the report time period
      • Total file downloads – Total count of files dowloaded in the team during the report time period
      • Total content shares – Total count of content in the team that was shared during the report time period. Share is counted when a link of an item is copied or when a news feed is share action is taken.
    • This report has been enhanced at both domain level & team level

 

Library enhancements

  • Domain admins now have an option to turn off requiring icons for items in a library. This setting is at a per library level. By default icons are required for all library items
  • For library item of type ‘link’ & conditional link’ additional color choices have been added in the palette
  • Both ‘link’ and ‘conditional link’ library items now do not require a default condition to be specified.

Greetings & recognition additions

  • New categories & assets have been added in the greeting module. These include

    • Administrative Professionals

    • Congratulations

    • Easter
    • Fathers Day
    • Halloween
    • Hanukkah
    • Labor Day

  • New assets added in recognition module. These include
    • New award items for years of service
    • New award items in peer to peer
    • New award items in safety & quality
    • New award items in general company
  • There is now a default message for all recognition awards (which was earlier the description) giving users an option to edit prior to giving the recognition

Quick access to change profile photo

  • Under the new profile picture & name dropdown there is a new action to set the user’s profile photo.
  • User can upload a new profile photo and use the image adjuster tool to select the part that they would like to use in the profile photo

Language Support

  • MangoApps portal is now available in Turkish language
  • The translate module has been updated to support Turkish language
  • Inline translation support has been added to Zendesk integration thru’ which a ticket comes in as a news feed in MangoApps

Post Improvements

  • Podcasts
    • The listen button on the post viewer (for a post that is converted to a podcast) has been replaced with the audio player
    • This will enable the user to hear the contents of post with just 1-click

  • New image size option
    • There is a new option under ‘Display Settings > Size’  in Add media dialog with a value of ‘Original’
    • Original will show the original image in the post.
    • When the selected image is < 1 MB it defaults to original option and when the image is >= 1 MB it defaults to full width option. User can change their preferred option as before

 

  • For domain admins
    • A new log called ‘Debug’ log has been added for domain admins under home > logs
    • This log in this release captures the different post actions like draft saved, draft deleted, edit started and post published

 

Additional Improvements

  • Survey Insights
    • New option is available for survey creators to limit the access to view survey insights/results to only survey creator & domain admins
    • For the new value of survey insights/results the access level will default to full access

  • User Devices
    • User devices page usability has been improved to remember the ‘Items per page’ preference of the admin when sorting on columns is done
    • A new search bar to easily find a user device by user name has been added

  • User status in People Directory 
    • Domain admins now have the ability to turn ON showing the user status in the people directory
    • When turned ON, the user entered status is shown below the profile picture in the people directory

  • Export & Import of Team Members
    • Team admins can now export the list of team members from one team and then import them into another team to quickly add users in bulk

  • Startup dialog
    • When there are multiple announcements shown in the slider on the startup dialog, opening one announcement will now not close the startup dialog automatically
    • Users can now view multiple announcements (one at a time) from the startup dialog and once done can close the startup dialog

  • Upcoming birthdays widget
    • The upcoming birthdays widget can now be added to any project/group/department team page

 

  • Login page
    • The login page UI layout has been improved with the menus moved to the top
    • Login page will  now include the name of the product and it’s version
    • The login page will only be effective on domains that have not  turned on custom branding

  • Event creation
    • The notes field in events now has rich text editor
    • This enable using of color to highlight & ability to remove formatting from copied text
