Screen Share Module Core Features

  • Screen Share is a new module for instant screen sharing with a co-worker inside the company or partner / user  outside your company. Like other core MangoApps modules, this module can be turned on or off, added to the primary navigation and launched from the compose dropdown
  • Option to share full desktop or a just a single application window is available
  • Ability to get audio alongside the screen sharing session is available
  • Share the secure link with upto 2 people inside or outside the company to join. People instantly join the screen share session by just clicking the shared link
  • Any one participant using the browser or native MangoApps client can share their screen with other participants without the need to switch presenter/organizer rights
  • All participants can view the list of people who are on the screen share session along with the time they joined
  • Stop the screen share at anytime and continue when ready feature is supported
  • In the screen share module you can see the list of all screen shares that you have organized or participated in
  • Organizer of the screen share session can label the session to help participants find it easily later

External (Non-Logged-In) User Supported

  • Screen share can be done with participants who are not registered / not logged in users if the domain admin has enabled public screen sharing feature
  • Start a screen share and share the secure link with an external user via email or any other channel.
  • Clicking on the shared link the external user is asked to provide their full name and then  they can view the organizer’s shared screen
  • External / Non-logged-in user can also share their screen if they need to
  • The recording of the session can be shared with external / non-logged-in users if your domain admin has allowed recorded links to have public access

Screen Share Settings & Controls

  • Domain Admins have the following controls on the screen share module
    • Enable organizers to record their screen share sessions
    • Allow non-registered/non-logged users to participate in screen share sessions (external support use case)
    • Allow recorded session links to have public access
    • Ability to set the initial defaults on the following settings for all users
      • Auto mute audio for the user when they join a screen share session
      • Auto join a screen share session when a link is shared with the user (for the participant)
      • Auto copy screen share url when a user initiates a screen share (for the organizer)
  • Screen share organizer/participants have the following setting options
    • Auto mute audio when you join a screen share session
    • Auto join a screen share session when a link is shared with you (for the participant)
    • Auto copy screen share url when you initiate a screen share (for the organizer)

Screen Share Using Web Browser & MangoApps Clients

  • Screen sharing is supported using the following web browsers
    • Chrome (both initiating a new screen share & viewing of a remote screen share)
    • Firefox (both initiating a new screen share & viewing of a remote screen share)
    • IE 11 & Edge (only viewing of a remote screen share)
    • Safari  (only viewing of a remote screen share)
  • Initiating a screen share from the Chrome browser requires installing a chrome extension (takes < 1 min). Firefox browser no extension is required. Additionally to view the remote screen share no extension is needed for all browsers
  • MangoApps Desktop  client supports both initiating & viewing of a remote screen share
  • MangoApps Mac client launches the browser for initiating a screen share & viewing of a remote screen share

Screen Share On Mobile

  • Remote screen share viewing is supported on both iOS & Android devices in the mobile browser
  • Ability to get audio alongside the screen sharing session is available on mobile
  • You can view the list of people who are on the screen share session along with the time they joined
  • Get and share the screen share link on mobile

Monthly Usage Logs & Limits

  • In admin portal under Home > Logs you can now get information about your domain’s monthly usage of screen share (& video / audio calls)
  • The logs provide information on
    • Current month’s screen share (& video/audio call) minutes used
    • Total minutes of screen share (& video/audio call) consumed
  • A month by month usage log is available online & for download
  • Each month’s usage can be drilled down further to get a list of users who used the screen share (& video/audio call) feature
  • By default all domains get a total of 1800 minutes / month of screen share & video/audio calling (with MangoApps huddle option).
  • Un-used minutes per month don’t get rollover’ed at this time.
