MangoApps Calendars and Events allows users to schedule their daily work agenda meetings with their colleagues.

With MangoApps Calendar, users can now quickly schedule meetings, setup team events, plan company events and create appointments. For all the events you create you get reminders, so you always know what’s next.

MangoApps events are the easy way to invite employees, customers, and partners to attend a get-together, or schedule something in advance so that MangoApps users are notified. Any meeting that needs an RSVP or guest list can be made into a MangoApps event.

As a MangoApps user, you can create the following types of events in MangoApps:

  • Company Event
  • Team Event
  • Appointment
  • Meeting

A. Company Event

Users can create a company event for your all-hands, a blood drive, rallying up volunteers for a cause etc like company-wide events.
Company events are visible to all network users on their calendar.

Below are the steps to create a Company event types in MangoApps:

  1. Click on the Compose Action
  2. Select the Event from the menu drop-down
  3. Select Company Event tab
  4. Enter the details of the event:
    • Title – A short description of the event
    • Where – Location where the event will be held
    • Start Time
    • End Time (Note: Users can create an all-day event by selecting ‘All Day Event’ check-box
    • Agenda (Description of what the event will encompass)
    • RSVP Setting: The organizer can control who can RSVP on company events with these 2 options (Anyone in the company can RSVP or Anyone in the company can RSVP but organizer needs to approve)
    • Notify All the invitees (A comment on your behalf will be automatically posted in the event feed notifying all event invitees at the time you set here.)
    • Add Huddle (Check this if you need to do an online screen sharing using either GoToMeeting or Join. Me service)
    • Allow Photo sharing (Check this if the event invitees are allowed to upload photos on the event page)
    • Show the invitee list to everyone (Check this if anyone having access to the event page can see all the invitees)
  5. Click on Create an Event

Below are some of the salient features of a company event

  • Company events are visible to all network users on their calendar
  • When a company event is created all network users get a notification
  • Company events can be automatically set to repeat/re-occur
  • Anyone can share the link of a company event with anyone in the company

B. Team Event

Team events can be created for a team meeting, team discussions, team outing etc like use cases.

Below are the steps to create a Team event types in MangoApps:

  1. Click on the Compose action
  2. Select the Event from the menu drop-down
  3. Select Team Event tab
  4. Enter the details of the event:
    • Title – A short description of the event
    • Where – Location where the event will be held
    • Start Time
    • End Time (Note: Users can create an all-day event by selecting ‘All Day Event’ check-box
    • Agenda (Description of what the event will encompass)
    • Add Attendees: Add the Team that you wish to send the team meeting invite to (Note:  The team event notification will be sent to all the team members. If you wish to notify specific users for the team event, then add these users to list)
    • Notify All the invitees (A comment on your behalf will be automatically posted in the event feed notifying all event invitees at the time you set here.)
    • Add Huddle (Check this if you need to do an online screen sharing using either GoToMeeting or Join. Me service)
    • Allow Photo sharing (Check this if the event invitees are allowed to upload photos on the event page)
    • Allow guests to send out invites (When this option is checked event attendees who are network users can invite more people to the event)
    • Show the invitee list to everyone (Check this if anyone having access to the event page can see all the invitees)
  5. Click on Create an Event.

Below are some of the salient features of the team events

  • Team events are visible to all team members on their calendar
  • Only team members can RSVP to a private & unlisted team event
  • Anyone in the company can RSVP to a public team event
  • Organizer can create a team event where all team members are invited or a team event where specific members from the team are invited
  • When a team event is created all invited team members are notified
  • Team events can be automatically set to repeat/re-occur

C. Appointment

Appointments are activities that you schedule on your calendar that do not involve inviting other people

Below are the steps to create an Appointment in MangoApps:

  1. Click on the Compose action
  2. Select the Event from the menu drop-down
  3. Select the Appointment tab
  4. Enter the details of the event:
    • Title – A short description of the event
    • Where – Location where the event will be held
    • Start Time
    • End Time (Note: Users can create an all-day event by selecting ‘All Day Event’ check-box
    • Agenda (Description of what the event will encompass)
  5. Click on Create an Event

Below are some of the salient features of the appointment

  • Anyone can create an appointment
  • Appointments only show up on the creator’s calendar
  • Appointments can be automatically set to repeat/re-occur

D. Meeting

Meetings are the way to schedule time with people in your company or outside your company to accomplish a goal

Below are the steps to create a Meeting in MangoApps:

  1. Click on the Compose action
  2. Select the Event from the menu drop-down
  3. Select Meeting Event tab
  4. Enter the details of the event:
    • Title – A short description of the event
    • Where – Location where the event will be held
    • Start Time
    • End Time (Note: Users can create an all-day event by selecting ‘All Day Event’ check-box
    • Agenda (Description of what the event will encompass)
    • Add Attendees: Add the Team that you wish to send the team meeting invite to (Note:  The team event notification will be sent to all the team members. If you wish to notify specific users for the team event, then add these users to list)

Guest user invitation in a meeting

  • Guest users can be  to a meeting who aren’t part of the domain/network using their email addresses
  • These external event guest users get a secure user-specific link to the meeting page so that they can RSVP
  • These external event guest users do not require to sign-in in order to RSVP
  • External event guest users do not get access to any other functionality in MangoApps except to the meeting page that they are invited to.
  • There is an option to add the event to the outlook or google apps calendar to set a reminder

Below are some of the salient features of the meeting

  • You can invite any number of people to a meeting
  • When a meeting is created the invited users are notified (in-app & email)
  • Meetings are visible to only the invitees on their calendar
  • Only the meeting invitees can RSVP
  • Meetings can be automatically set to repeat/re-occur
  • Any network user can schedule a meeting

What are the Admin options?

you can change the permissions to who can create a Full company and Private events. So only domain admins, intranet admins, and assign specific users to be event creators.
From the Admin portal, under Modules go to Calendar then Event Settings tab.
